Having provided strategic planning consultancy advice to the client, planning permission was secured from the Irish Appeals Board (An Bord Pleanala) for this complex project to partially demolish six protected structures, including those occupied by the existing historic Clarence Hotel, on the grounds of ‘exceptional circumstances’.
The scheme would deliver a new iconic luxury Clarence Hotel that would act as a significant landmark building for the Temple Bar area of Dublin City Centre along the historic city quays.
